Haha, the plans were:

1: Go under house, find some wood.

2: Find a chair.

3: Build the base and seat mount.

4: Sit in the seat and work out where the rest of the bits go with trail and error, then cut and fit them.

Nah in all seriousness, if you want the measurements ill be happy to get out the tape measure for ya. Just be aware that a cockpit like this is really built around the seat, and if your seat has different mounting points and heights etc, then the rest of the cockpit will be all wrong!

Thought it was time I posted some finished pics of the cockpit. Now painted and has 6 speakers (front and rears and two subs) at about 80wrms and various stands including one for the laptop. Finally it has my favourite part, a home made tactile transducer (aka bass shaker). Made it from an old speaker and its powered by the old stereo that you see under the desk. I worked out its resonant frequency (about 40hz), and then mixed in some pure sine waves of that frequency into some of the games sound files like the crash sounds, skid sounds etc. Its bloody great fun and like most of this build, was free :D

Just bought some new sim parts, fairly excited and really enjoying using them :D :D

Hopefully one day will be able to put them in a cockpit :D

But heres what I got:

ACT- LABS 2006 RS Shifter
- Ordered it in from the US, came in 6 days :D
- Also bought a 2nd knob because the one that comes with it is a bit dodgey. The one at the top of the picture, made of metal and carbon fiber. Have to change the plates whenever I want to change, but I usually just leave the 6 speed and reverse on and change it to seq if I want to. Takes about 2 mins to change the plate.

Fanatec Clubsports
- Ordered them in NZ as im sure you guys know
